It’s in a quiet part of town, with an easy short walk to the centre and the lake. Everywhere was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. Our downstairs room was an okay size, though not especially spacious, with only a small spot for a kettle and fridge. We could hear a lot from the room above. The people staying there that night were particularly heavy footed, but you can also clearly hear the toilet flushing and shower running. The place is currently for sale. I can’t point to anything specific, but it felt like it was just ticking over until a new owner comes in.

We’d never stayed anywhere with a natural spring running through it before. The place is fairly basic but had everything we needed. The hot tub was already on from 3pm outside our room, with a view of the mountains. Take care on the red trails out there if you’re cycling 😉

The staff were really welcoming, and the location made it easy to get to the lakefront in just over five minutes on foot. Both breakfasts were good, though I liked the Japanese one a little more than the fry-up. We also had a soak in the outdoor spa and enjoyed the fantastic view. The place was quiet, clean and tidy. We’d happily stay again when we’re back in Wanaka, and I’d recommend it.

There are handy communal spots indoors and out for eating, plus free parking and water from the aquifer. The rooms were clean, and there’s a hot tub too. Our host was kind and very accommodating, and the location worked really well.

The upstairs common room has amazing views, and our host was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and roomy. Dinner smelled so good; I’d have tried it if we’d been in Wanaka longer.
