Clearbrook Motel and Serviced Apartments

After hiking Roy's Peak, my legs were wrecked on the way up and my knees on the way down, so a soak in the jacuzzi was much needed. I also grilled a steak on the backyard gas grill and got some laundry done. The place had everything we needed and was very spacious for the price. A clear brook runs along the backyard, food is just around the corner, and the supermarket is a short walk away, with the lakeside a little further on. Recommended.

Great staff, and it was an easy walk into “downtown” Wānaka. The place was very comfortable and convenient. Extra beds could be a real help for some families.

The room was spacious and spotless, and having a washing machine in the room was very handy for our few days there. We could walk to the lake and into town for dinner or a look around. It was close enough to get around easily but far enough from the busiest tourist area. The location and cleanliness were spot on, but $320 a night felt like too much for what you get. At that rate, I expected more, and it just didn’t seem like good value. I’d stay again if the price were more reasonable.

The website photos show the lake, but you can’t actually see it from here. They also don’t mention the construction right next to the motel. We’d booked two nights in one room and a separate room for one night, but were so disappointed that we didn’t stay at all. We’d prepaid, and they didn’t even offer a token refund.
