At $220 a night, this felt like terrible value. The bathroom paint was old, chipped and stained, and there was no ventilation in either the bathroom or the room, leaving everything damp and stale. Condensation on the windows was so bad it blocked the scenic views. I also found the cooking rules offensive and the cleaning policy unreasonable, especially the threat to charge a guest’s card for dishes left unwashed. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We spent two nights here and found the apartment very comfortable. The bed was really comfortable too, and the views are stunning, even from the balcony on a rainy day. The location is excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d stay again.

My room had a magnificent view, and the place looked like a newly refurbished motel. Everything was great for the affordable price. The staff were friendly and helpful: they left me a note to make check-in easier and helped me find the owner of a lost driver’s license. Thanks so much, team. I hope to stay here again soon. We loved our time here. The team was kind and professional, and the view of Wanaka lake was the best you could dream of. The room was a little updated, but comfortable, with everything you need.

Our friends stayed elsewhere in Wanaka and had a great time. We chose The Lake View Wanaka, and it was awful. The owner was rude and aggressive, banging on our door at 7am and shouting at us. The rooms were dirty, cheap and nasty. It was simply the worst accommodation I’ve ever stayed in.
