The room had barely any laundry powder left, which seemed especially inadequate given the extra cleaning charge. We’d already paid the full amount through the booking platform, then were asked for another NZD 70 at check-in as a “cleaning fee.” It hadn’t been clearly disclosed beforehand, and having a compulsory fee appear after arrival felt misleading and left us frustrated and less trusting. All charges should be explained before payment so other guests don’t face the same surprise.

Fees like this should be made transparent before payment, rather than appearing at check-in. The experience damaged my trust, and I hope the property is upfront with future guests.

The place itself had a good environment, but the check-in charge left me disappointed. It seems inconsiderate to rent this site to tourists at all. Someone should be checking whether places like this are actually suitable for Airbnb or tourist rentals.

A nice place for a large group. It would be handy to have a nonstick pan, Glad Wrap, paper towels and tissues available.
