Wanaka Lakefront Gem

The view and location were excellent, but the house was a major letdown for what we paid, USD $914 per night for five nights. We arrived with a baby and kids and had to deal with dirty floors and bathrooms. We mopped the whole house several times, but the water stayed black, and there was a lot of hair left in the bathrooms. It was unhygienic and unacceptable. Should guests really have to wait for cleaning after they’ve checked in? At this price, the property should be properly inspected and cleaned beforehand. The listing advertised two king bedrooms, but the beds were smaller than a queen. As frequent year-round travelers, we know bed sizes vary by country, and wouldn’t raise this if the listing were accurate. The dimensions should be checked so the listing doesn’t give false information. Cooling was also inadequate for a summer stay. Two bedrooms had no air conditioning, and only two small fans were there at first. We had to ask for a larger fan to make the rooms bearable. The WiFi was extremely slow, worse than a third world country, and some rooms had no signal. For the rate, we expected much better cleanliness, accurate listing details and amenities.
