The room was outdated, though it seemed fairly clean and tidy at first. Then we found blood stains on a pillow and the sheets, along with crumbs and hair from previous guests. It was pretty clear the bedding hadn’t been washed or changed. Honestly, disgusting. We had our own sleeping bags and pillows, so we used those. Without them, I’d rather have slept in the car. With COVID around, I couldn’t understand how the sheets hadn’t been changed. I don’t usually write reviews, but wanted to let people know before they booked. The cheap rate was what it was, I suppose you get what you pay for, but I was repulsed and won’t come back.

The bedding was clean and the bed comfortable, but we won’t stay here again. After making further complaints, we were moved to another room and given a $25.00 discount. That room had mold on the ceiling, and the phone and TV were on display but didn’t work. We’d stayed a year earlier and found the rooms clean and tidy for their age, and good value. This visit was terrible. Reception was unattended, and the phone provided for contacting staff was sticky and dirty. Our first room had a missing manhole in the bathroom and smelled extremely damp, which set off my asthma. They’d tried to cover the mold smell with a plug-in spray. When I complained, we were shown photos indicating that pipes in the ceiling space had been leaking for some time. I could understand the disagreement over who was responsible, between the landlords and the leasee, but knowing the room was in that condition was no reason to rent it to guests.

The staff were kind enough to refund me after I rebooked somewhere else. The rooms were tidy, but the place was very run down and didn’t match what had been advertised. There’d been no basic maintenance, and it didn’t feel safe or secure to stay there.

For $250 for two nights, I wouldn’t recommend this place to friends or family. The comfortable bed was about the only good thing about the room. The TV had just four channels, and the shower had mold and hadn’t been cleaned well. The accommodation wasn’t worth the three-star rating it was given. There was no mention that the restaurant and bar were closed. Also, if you book by credit card, they’ll make a deduction without your consent, even after being told you’d pay on arrival or when leaving.
