Al Misfah Hospitality Inn

Even for just one night, this was absolutely worth it. The hotel is right in the heart of the village, with thoughtfully decorated rooms that preserve its spirit. We loved the terrace and its stunning views of the village and surrounding mountains. Eshaq was a fantastic host. He helped with parking and our big bags, no easy feat with all the village steps, and gave us great suggestions for places to visit. He even showed us around his village on the other side of the old village, where his explanations about the local plantations and the views of the old village were breathtaking. Thanks so much, Eshaq 🙏 The staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout. We highly recommend staying here if you want to experience the true Omani atmosphere in this charming village.

We had a lovely room with a balcony view, and the buffet breakfast and dinner were quite good. Sitting high up on the balcony to watch the sun rise and set over the valley and villages was a favorite. We got lucky with parking, though staff seemed ready to help find a closer spot if needed. You'll need to carry your things up and down stairs to reach the Inn, so pack accordingly. The village felt pretty touristy, which was fine, but we were glad to stay just one night since there isn't too much to do.

We spent five wonderful days here last year and used the accommodation as a base for day trips. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and kind, and the buffet was delicious with vegetarian choices too. The town is especially peaceful in the evenings. I worry that a lot will change in the coming years and that it could lose its charm. Even now, there are days when it gets overrun with tourists.
