Bait Al Muallem by Nomad Inn

Adnan, the hotel manager, made a big difference to our stay at Bait Almuallem by Nomad Inn Oman. His tips on sightseeing, including the goat market and nearby halwa, when to visit attractions, and where to eat locally made the visit unforgettable. We also got clear directions for parking in Nizwa’s narrow streets and a warm welcome with help for our luggage. We spent two nights in the Honeymoon Suite, in the centre of Nizwa. The hotel is a beautifully renovated traditional Omani house with modern comforts. Our suite was stunning, stylishly furnished, with fantastic bed linen, excellent air conditioning and thoughtful details. There’s a lovely city view from the rooftop terrace. The hospitality and service were outstanding. We’d happily return and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Nizwa.

Our stay was one of the highlights of Oman, and the hotel itself is absolutely amazing. The reception team were the kindest and most helpful. But the two birds kept in a tiny space were so depressing. Owner, you’ve got corners in that wonderful house where you could build a 2x2x2 meter cage for a happy bird family, and tourists would love that. In the meantime, please cover the cage from sunset to sunrise so the birds can sleep with less stress. Please pass this on to the cafe, too. The birds there are kept in the same horrible conditions, even though you serve an amazing breakfast. We loved your hotel, but please don’t use animals as decorations. Thank you.

It’s an authentic place, so don’t expect a full-scale hotel. Some things feel more authentic than others, but the stay was very pleasant. The staff went above and beyond. Breakfast is served at an amazing nearby cafe. Highly recommend for a short stay in Nizwa.

This is the most beautiful hotel we’ve stayed in in Oman, like being in a fairytale. There are thick mud walls, wooden doors and lanterns everywhere. We got upgraded to a fantastic room, and they really try to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast is delicious.
