The service felt personal and was top notch. Señor Juan went out of his way to make my stay enjoyable, even bringing aloe Vera after I mentioned I was sunburned. From the jungle view, you can see and hear howler monkeys, and it's a beautiful, relaxing place for a slow vacation. The views were mesmerizing, and arriving here felt like stepping somewhere far from Chiriqui or even Panama. There are plenty of activities. Our island hopping trip was private, and they provided a waterproof bag, snacks, and water for the picnic. The boat captain was nice, picked coconuts for us, and set out a fruit table. I only wish the restaurant offered more choices, maybe Panamanian food like Sancocho or Patacones. What a wonderful trip. I need to come back.

We only stayed one night while traveling across Panama. The drive after leaving the Pan Am highway was scenic and hilly, along what looked like a newly paved road. We stopped at the 3/4. Pub for a cold beer on the way. Say hi to Cybil! When we arrived, the service was great, and our luggage was carried up to a room with an incredible ocean view. There are quite a few stairs, but the room and view made them worthwhile. More steps lead down to the beach and a lookout deck with chairs. All four of us loved supper at the Luna Azulejo restaurant. Don't worry if you hear howler monkeys at night, they're nearby in the treetops and harmless. For an island tour, drive into town and find a water taxi, maybe Captain Henry. It was well worth it. A great visit.

You can spot howler monkeys and iguanas just outside your room, with the bay in view and nature all around. The hotel and service were amazing. Juan and his team were consistently helpful and polite.

The food is made fresh and nicely presented, and the wait staff have always been friendly and attentive. I especially like the dorado on coconut rice with Thai green curry, the fish tacos, and the salads. The menu has a decent range of choices. The hillside restaurant looks over a small anchorage, mostly sailboats, in the channel between the mainland and Boca Brava. Wherever you sit, the view is lovely. I've known the place for years and have eaten here since the original owners came ashore and built it. It's changed hands two or three times, but has kept its charm and good looks. It's always clean, with nicely set tables. If you're around Boca Chica, it's worth stopping for lunch or sunset dinner. Don't get there before noon, since it opens right at 12. The Tiki Bar over the water is a fun extra, usually open Friday and Saturday nights, I believe. Check first, since hours shift in the off-season.
