Los Balcones Over The Sea Hotel

The balcony was my favorite place to relax, and my room was clean and comfortable. Los Balcones on Carenero Island has a calm feel, with open, light spaces looking out over the water and greenery. It’s only a short boat ride from Bocas Town, so you can get some quiet without being far from everything. The staff were friendly and helpful, and having laundry available was a nice convenience. A simple, peaceful place with a lovely setting.

We spent several nights at Los Balcones and it felt almost like having a private hotel. Breakfast was made for us each morning, and the big open main floor overlooking the water was a lovely place to unwind in the evenings. Darren, the manager, met us at the private pier after a quick water taxi ride from Bocas town and was very friendly and helpful. Laundry was available for a small fee, too. The rooms are simple, with air conditioning and a TV, and the bathrooms and showers were good. Motion lights help around the property at night. Carenero is residential, so you’ll see local residents if you walk around. We hiked to the far side of the island for lunch at Bibis, and I even had a massage on the beach. It’s good value. The place has seen better days, but I think that’s part of its charm. I’d stay again.

The room was bright and spacious, with a very comfortable bed and air conditioning. There’s a lovely beach nearby, and the view from the place is incredible, especially at sunset. Bocas Island is just across the water, and the boat costs $1. I’d recommend staying here for a beautiful vacation.

We felt safe here as two girls traveling, and the hostel owner was really nice to us. The location is perfect. Our huge room had a balcony and air conditioning, which was a real plus. We paid $15 each, including breakfast with eggs, pancakes, bread, and fruit. I’d recommend it 100%.
