Sand Dollar Beach Bed & Breakfast

The natural setting was one of the best parts of our stay. A small jungle beside the B&B attracts colorful birds near the breakfast patio each morning, and we heard and saw monkeys moving through the trees. It felt connected to the surroundings rather than overly touristy. The beach is only steps away, and the warm water was still enjoyable in light rain. The property is just outside the main town, so it feels quiet, but town is an easy walk or about a five-minute taxi ride. The owners have been part of the community for more than a decade, and it's easy to see why they're well known locally. This wife-and-husband team clearly take pride in the place. They're patient, friendly, and know the area well, and happily shared tips for restaurants, outings, excursions, and local wildlife. The staff were just as kind and attentive, quickly helping whenever we had a question or needed something unexpected. The property is clean, comfortable, and very well maintained, with a peaceful, welcoming feel from the moment you arrive. Our room was spotless, the pool area was beautifully kept, and the whole place seemed thoughtfully cared for. If you want somewhere close to both nature and town, this is worth considering. We had a great experience at Sand Dollar Bed and Breakfast in Bocas del Toro.

Sharron, Mark, Karen, Steve, and Dama make the stay unforgettable. They can help with whatever you need, including arranging tours, and share useful local knowledge. We spotted sloths, monkeys, and amazing birds right on the property. It's a proper B&B with a wonderful breakfast every day, close to town but peaceful enough to feel away from it all.

Sand Dollar B&B feels like an authentic, higher-end Caribbean bed and breakfast. Everything was really clean and the rooms were tastefully decorated. The service and breakfast were so good I'd give them an extra star if I could. It may be the best homemade breakfast on the island. I'd come back, and I will.

The only thing I wish we'd done differently was book more than two nights. Our stay at the Sand Dollar Bed and Breakfast was the highlight of our whole trip to Panamá, and we're already planning a much longer return. Sharon, Mark, Karen, Steve, and Dama welcomed us like family from the minute we arrived until we reluctantly left. They greeted us with fresh coconut water, showed us around with real warmth, and made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious every morning, our room was spotless and comfortable, and the thoughtful little touches made a difference. They also helped arrange a once-in-a-lifetime beach dinner for us at Bocas del Drago, then an incredible day exploring the area by boat. It was pure magic. If you're heading to the area, stay here.
