BEWARE: BED BUGS!! My sister and I woke up every morning at this hotel with new, itchy bites. The pattern kept going through the stay, with more bites after each night, even after the sheets were changed. That seems highly concerning and consistent with bed bugs, rather than just sand flies from outside. I counted over 40 bites on myself alone, and they were extremely itchy. We reported it, but the hotel kept dismissing it as sand flies and did nothing meaningful to help. No room change, professional inspection, proactive treatment, or real concern for my comfort or health. I felt completely unsupported while continuing to get bitten. The only thing offered was Lysol, which did nothing to prevent more bites since bed bugs are in the mattress and headboard. We’re leaving covered in red, itchy welts on our legs, up our thighs, backs, and arms. Three hotel staff members were told about this very concerning problem, and none helped. This level of inaction is unacceptable. Guests deserve a safe, clean room and to be taken seriously when they report a possible infestation. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Management should take this seriously and bring in proper pest inspection and treatment before more guests go through the same thing.

If you’re ready to move from hostel stays to a proper hotel in Bocas, Tropical Suites should be on your shortlist. It’s right in the heart of Bocas Town, with clean, fully equipped rooms and really comfortable beds. The pool area looks out to sea, and there’s a bar serving amazing cocktails. The team goes above and beyond to help. The restaurant has breakfast choices for everyone, and the lunch and dinner are full of flavor too. Try the risotto! Highly recommended.

Our room, D, was at the end of the building over the water, so we had water views from inside. There was also a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed cocktails and watched the boats and sunset. The staff were all incredible and helpful, and we had delicious breakfast every morning. Tropical Suites is right in the middle of Bocas Town, with easy access to everything. Water taxis and tour boats are a short walk away, and the hotel can arrange pickups right at its dock. I highly recommend staying here on a trip to Bocas.

Great place, with a quick trip to and from the airport and easy access to other parts of Boca. The front desk can arrange things for you or point you in the right direction. Lots of good food nearby, and the restaurant team was great :)

We stayed in the starfish suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and nice and cool with A/C. They’d thought of the things we might need, including bathrobes, pool towels, and earplugs. The Meren Pool beach club and bar was a highlight. We spent Sunday enjoying cool DJ music and watching boats pass, and there was live music on Saturday night too. The hotel is right in the heart of Bocas del Toro town, a three-minute walk from the water taxi and ferry dock. Everything you might need is close by, and the front desk was very helpful. Good value for one of the nicest properties in Bocas town.
