The setting at Kambutaleko is incredibly peaceful, up on a small hill with beautiful views of the jungle and ocean. We mostly heard waves and wildlife. The vegetarian dinners were fantastic, and the food quality was easily the best we’ve had at a hotel. Breakfast was great every morning too. Ion and his family are warm, genuine hosts who made us feel at home right away. We stayed nine nights with our children, ages 2 and 4, and they loved it. The rooms had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The outdoor garden shower deserves a special mention, it was superb. We’ve stayed in hotels and hostels around the world and haven’t had a better experience. We’re already planning to return. Kambutaleko made a beautiful home away from home at the end of the road in Panama, and we’re so grateful to Ion and his family for making our holiday unforgettable.

Jon greeted us kindly when we arrived late at night and even made a small dinner for us, since all the restaurants nearby had closed. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. We’re already looking forward to staying again.

The food is freshly prepared and tastes great, and Jon gave us helpful tips on surf spots, how to reach them, and the best tides. He and his family have made a cute place in the mountains, with lovely views of the sea and nature. Would definitely recommend.

I only ate at the restaurant, so I can’t say anything about the rooms. The tuna was tough and didn’t have much flavor, the WiFi was awful, and the parking felt scary. Maybe I’ll give it another try someday.

We were a group of five and had plenty of comfort hanging out in front of our suites. The hotel is up a hill, though the beach is only about a five-minute walk away, and it felt like a very safe area to travel around. I had a corner room without air conditioning and was comfortable each night. The rooms were very clean and the views were amazing. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, and I’d recommend it. Jon and his team were wonderful hosts during our six-night stay.
