Hotel F Sur Inn

We drove up from the middle of Costa Rica and hit the border right at closing time, so we checked in super late. That was no problem, and they also welcomed our huge dog. They even took his photo for Instagram, they said. His name is Floki, a 150-pound brindle Cane Corso and shepherd mix. I'm really grateful they let him stay, since so many places we'd tried weren't pet-friendly. I drove all the way from Canada to get here. The place is much bigger than the photos made it look, and I was super happy with the hot shower and excellent water pressure. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the comforter and pillows felt like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast was really good too.

It's close to shops, supermarkets, and transport, and the staff are so kind and helpful. The hotel is well located, and both the rooms and common areas are clean.

I went in with low expectations and came away pleasantly surprised. It's a simple place with clean, nice rooms and a comfortable bed. The AC works well, the shower gets really hot, and the staff are very friendly. Don't expect frills or extras, though.

After six and a half hours of driving, I wanted a drink, and there was no ice in the hotel. I couldn't believe it. The front desk clerk went somewhere nearby and came back with a small glass of ice, saying that was all they had. I was tired and grumpy then, but that was a petty little complaint. The cleanliness and service really impressed me, and I'll be back. The front desk staff are great, bilingual, and very accommodating. My room was clean but very bare-bones. The restaurant is open for breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 am, and breakfast is included.
