Dinner was delicious, and the staff were the best part of my stay. They were kind and accommodating, and the service was impeccable. The place is secluded and really relaxing, with a beautiful location and an extremely clean room. I also liked the overgrown vegetation because it gave the property an old-school Panama feel. It could use some upkeep, though: the rooms are old, the pool needed cleaning, and the vegetation could be trimmed more. It’s not five-star perfection, but Saturday’s musicians made dinner feel like it could have been a romantic date if my wife had been with me. I’d recommend it to a friend and would go back.

At least the grounds leading to the beach are beautiful, and the staff were pleasant, kind, and attentive. The rest of the place felt outdated and almost abandoned. It’s also a long way out, with very little signage, so it wasn’t clear whether it was open. The restaurant was disappointing for all of us. Even the dish described as spicy Creole style had no seasoning. It’s unfortunate to assume foreign visitors only want bland or fast food. I hope Panama will take more pride in its own food and seasonings, so people can enjoy them without traveling elsewhere for flavor.

The rooms need renovation, and service could be better. The gentleman at the pool bar was the only staff member who stood out for excellent customer service. The rest could really use customer service training.

The restaurant was inconsistent, the same dish was great one day and disappointing the next. The resort is older, but immaculately clean, and sits on a nice sandy beach. The sand is gray because of the volcanic content.

Stay home. This might have been a resort 50 years ago, but it isn’t anymore. My room had mold, roaches, and dirt in the corners and closet. They charged extra for the room safe and pool chairs, and I couldn’t find any of the activities they promised. The room had only aluminum chairs, with no nightstands or reading lamps. I could go on and on.
