La Loma Jungle Lodge and Chocolate Farm

The hardest part was leaving. This was one of the most amazing places we've stayed, with lovely accommodations in a remarkable setting. Meals were prepared with care and the freshest ingredients. We tried lots of activities, including the farm tour, Manzanilla island, cave tour, bioluminescence, yoga, and a night walk, and enjoyed every one. They work with a small group of guides, all of whom were great, and the staff were friendly and always ready to help. Be prepared to spend your stay without four walls around you, so you need to be okay with bugs and other critters. The beds have good mosquito nets, and mosquitoes weren't much of a problem.

Our time at La Loma was wonderful. The place is quiet, with room to relax and explore this beautiful island, and the food was delicious. From the boat pick-up in Bocas to the morning muffins brought to our room, the whole stay felt amazing. Thanks to the team for such a great experience 🙌

Mornings start with nature sounds, muffins, and cacao tea left at your door. Then there's a lovely yoga session with cute Lilli before a two-course breakfast. Every meal was great, whether you eat everything or are vegan, and the cocktails were top-notch too. The place feels serene, authentic, and close to nature. Everyone on staff was so welcoming, especially Nicolas and Virgilio, who really won us over. I loved staying here and can't recommend it enough.

Sleeping right in the jungle was magical, with the sounds, fresh air, and peaceful feeling. The staff were incredible and the food was outstanding. They really know how to make the guest experience special. Bring bug spray, and be ready for lots of stairs, but it's worth it. I wanted to give 5 stars, but the kayak fleet needs work. The kayaks were old and broken, and most couldn't be used. We love being on the water and couldn't because of their condition.
