Isla Perro San Blas

Don't come expecting luxury rooms. The appeal is the simple island life, warm water, and snorkeling among colorful fish by the famous sunken ship. A real paradise if you want to disconnect and recharge.

I expected more, so it was really disappointing to find the island so dirty, with lots of rubbish on the beaches and in the water. Our room's toilet and electricity didn't work, and the shower and tap water were even saltier than the sea. When we arrived in the morning, there was no food available, even though we offered to pay. It's sad, and looking at the reviews, it seems like only local guides give this place five stars.

We visited during a tour while staying on another island. The beach and water were clean, and snorkeling near the sunken ship was good. I liked it much more than Diablo island. The food was about the same as at Diablo.

The huts were great, with enough breeze at night and fans indoors. The accommodation was lovely, though the food wasn't amazing, so I gave it 4.5 stars. I brought a small container of pesto and would pack Tabasco next time. Bring baby powder too, since even the showers use salt water. Paradise, and the sunken ship is fun to snorkel around.
