Hotel Caribe

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the hotel was clean and tidy throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful. Arieal worked hard to sort out our room key and replace the electronic lock batteries. Ramon at the rooftop pool bar was a friendly, all around gentleman. I’m not sure of Weaver,s job title, but he was busy all over the hotel and still took time to chat with us. Say hello to them if you get the chance. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but we walked around and never felt unsafe. There’s a Walmart style market across the street and a laundry two blocks away, which was handy. The casino next door serves an affordable, great lunch in its sports bar. We enjoyed our stay.

A very laid back place with its own Caribe vibe. The rooftop views are beautiful, and the old town is an easy walk away. We had a basic room, but it was spacious and clean. You could even show up to breakfast in your pajamas xD

If you need somewhere close to the city, this place is okay. Beyond that, I didn’t find much good about it. The online photos and advertising felt misleading. The bed was extremely noisy, the place smelled, the water dispenser didn’t work, and the front desk staff were unpleasant and unwilling to help. The cocktails and food weren’t worth the money either. I had to switch hotels the same day, and regretted paying extra for early check in.

Breakfast was good :) The rooms were just okay, pretty much what you’d expect for the price, but the service didn’t feel like four star service. The receptionist didn’t speak any English, so be prepared if you don’t speak Spanish. I’d spend the money somewhere else.
