Courtyard by Marriott Panama Multiplaza Mall

We were only there for one night, so when management offered a room change after the problem, it wasn't much use. The sliding restroom door wouldn't open past about 10 inches, the way housekeeping had left it. We told reception, then returned around 9:30pm to find the door disassembled and its frame on the floor. Management left an apology note and offered to change rooms. I would have expected bonus points in my Bonvoy account or a credit for this or a future stay. The suite itself was extremely dated, the AC controls were nearly impossible to operate, and the in-hotel restaurant left a lot to be desired. The hotel needs a total makeover, though it's conveniently next to Multi plaza Shopping Mall.

I've been staying at this Hotel for more than fifteen years, and I love it. Everyone is super nice. They're finally remodeling the rooms, and what I've seen so far is really pretty and comfortable. Thanks, everyone.

After a long international flight with our tiny dog, we were exhausted and just wanted to check in. Our Booking.com reservation clearly listed a total of $150, but the hotel added another $150 pet fee that wasn't shown in the confirmation or app. We paid because we were worn out, then got no acknowledgment from the hotel that the charge hadn't been clear. The manager searched through the app on my phone and cited buried wording that said “extra charges may apply,” which felt like a gotcha. She wouldn't admit there was a problem or offer a solution. I later spent nearly an hour writing Marriott customer service with all the details, and got back a generic, defensive reply telling me to call the property. It didn't seem like anyone had read my complaint. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was exceptionally disappointing and has completely destroyed my trust in Marriott. Between the property's lack of transparency and corporate's dismissive response, I won't stay at any Marriott brand again.
