Hospedium Princess Hotel Panama

The staff were the one bright spot, really nice and hardworking. It’s a fairly cheap hotel in a good location, so it might work if you can put up with a lot. Bring flip-flops, because the floors were extremely dirty. The room key stopped working every day, so I had to get it reset with my access card before the door would open. Wi-Fi barely worked, and I couldn’t sit on the sofa because of some suspicious stains. Breakfast was a nightmare: the oily sausage, often undercooked omelet and toaster oven that only worked on one side. Something was always wrong with the omelet, and that toaster seemed like an electrocution risk.

Everything felt damp, from the bedding and chairs to our clothes. After one night I woke up with a sore throat and tightness in my chest, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. The rooms are dated, but they’re a good size and the hotel offers what you might need. The real issue was the extreme humidity and moisture. Getting off the elevator on our floor, we were hit by a wave of musty, damp air.

The lobby gave us a good first impression, but that faded once we saw how old, neglected and dirty the hotel was. There were cockroaches in our bathroom. Reception staff were friendly, though the breakfast quality was poor.

The photos didn’t match this hotel at all. Our room smelled moldy and felt humid, and there were lots of cockroaches in the bathroom. We had no hot water during our four days there. The AC wouldn’t cool below 74 degrees F, so the room stayed hot, moist and damp. Cleanliness didn’t seem to be a priority. Panama City has plenty of nicer hotels, many with more accurate pictures. This place wasn’t worth it.
