Hostal Entre 2 Aguas

I woke up at 2 a.m. itching all over, went to the bathroom, and saw bites on my body. My girlfriend turned on the light and we spotted bed bugs in the bed. I took one to reception, and the night staff moved us to another room. That room wasn’t as nice as the one we’d paid for. At checkout I asked for a discount or some compensation. Besides a terrible night and itchy bites, we’d had to pack at 2 a.m., and now I need to wash and clean all our clothes and bags. The manager looked irritated and said I’d already been given a new room. That didn’t address what happened. Then he got angry and blamed us for bringing the bugs. I explained we’d come from home and hadn’t stayed at another hotel, but he kept accusing me and acting like I was lying. I work in the industry and have never seen such a poor response. He even said they couldn’t afford to discount every stay where guests get bed bugs. How often is this happening if it would wipe out their profits? I understand bed bugs can happen and must be frustrating for an owner. I wasn’t blaming them, since the previous guests could have brought them in. But blaming guests, offering no compensation, then yelling at me is shocking customer service. They have a lot to learn.

I really enjoyed staying here for two weeks, about two years ago. It was peaceful and comfortable, in a great spot, with friendly service, fair prices, and a delicious breakfast. I loved this hostal and highly recommend it. Randy Randy (Cyclist Ex​traor​di​naire)

I only stopped for an overnight layover, so I didn’t get to see much, and I wish I could’ve stayed longer. They don’t have dorms; for dormitory prices I got a clean room of my own with a private bathroom and AC. They were really helpful when I booked at the last minute.

Close to the metro, clean and quiet, with really friendly staff. A good choice if you want hotel comfort but also want access to a kitchen. I’d recommend this hostal.
