Hotel San Felipe

Rommal, the manager, was terrific, informative, and very accommodating. We also loved the restaurant. The old town is easy to walk around, even for us in our 70s with several joint replacements. The last Sunday of the month has a really festive feel. I’d highly recommend the hotel.

The room was comfortable and quiet, and the location worked perfectly for us. There was construction outside, but that can’t really be helped. Everyone on staff was friendly and went out of their way to make the stay good, especially Daniel and Kimberly. I’d happily come back.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the price felt like good value. I liked the historic look outside, but the rooms feel too modern and don’t fit it. There aren’t any simple breakfast choices. The location is excellent, though you might find other places with more old town character throughout.

Casco Viejo is right on hand, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and the staff were warm and helpful. The hotel itself was very nice. Street-facing rooms in the main building can be noisy. The rooms in the other building, above the restaurant and below the rooftop, were much quieter. The food was good, but service at the restaurant and rooftop was painfully slow, so I wouldn’t recommend either.
