There are local restaurants within walking distance, though evenings nearby are pretty quiet. The location works well as a central base for exploring the city, and the staff were excellent, with many speaking very good English. For a high-end hotel, some upkeep details need attention: the bathroom wasn’t dirty, but it needed a more thorough clean around the dusty mop boards and vents. The shower gets you wet when you turn it on, and some hinges and doors need maintenance.

We spent most of our time out exploring, so the room issues didn’t take much away from an otherwise enjoyable stay. The InterContinental Panama Miramar is in a fantastic spot, and the spa is lovely, with facials, body treatments, and massages. There’s a hair salon on site too, though I didn’t check its menu myself. Service was a real highlight. The front desk and restaurant teams were friendly, professional, and exceptional. Breakfast was good in a beautiful dining area, and there’s an omelet station. But when I went for eggs, the scrambled eggs were always gone, and boiled eggs seemed limited too. I don’t like queuing, and didn’t want to stand in line for an omelet. The sliding bathroom door jams badly if you close it all the way, so it’s hard to open again. The TV also didn’t work properly: there were no Netflix or Amazon Prime options, and regular channels wouldn’t load when we tried. With a few room fixes, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

Ms. Dayana Watts got in touch before we arrived to ask about our preferences and make sure things were arranged, which we really appreciated. We stayed one night, 02/07-02/08,2026, at InterContinental Miramar Panama, and it felt special from the start. Mr. Ian welcomed us so warmly, like we’d known him for years. As IHG Diamond members, we were offered early check-in, which was much appreciated. The hotel sits right by the bay with lovely water views. Restaurants and pharmacies are within walking distance. The Sunday brunch is a must for us, and the best in town. There’s complimentary wine and mimosas, plus seafood, meat, and desserts, with piano music from Mario, the Italian versatile musician. It makes for a relaxed Sunday. Service is outstanding too. Miramar Intercontinental is considered the school of hospitality services in Panama. The location is one of the best in Panama city, facing the Pacific ocean, with easy access to old Panamá traditional area, Punta Pacífica, Costa del Este, and the international airport.
