Principe Hotel and Suites

We rented here twice. One suite was perfect, the other was a little worn around the edges, so there’s some inconsistency. Both times, though, the showers, beds and AC were great. The junior suites are spacious, the views are good, especially from a corner room on the fourth floor or above, and leaving luggage was easy. There’s also a pool. No coffee maker or breakfast is provided, but in El Cangrejo, especially around this location, you won’t miss either. It’s just a short block off Av. Argentina and makes a handy base for day trips out of town. Right nearby are a 24 hour food counter with coffee, groceries and a drugstore, plus a 24 hour diner on the next corner. The best sushi in the city is around the corner, and the best coffee is a block away. El Cangrejo is walkable, with good local style prices.

Right in the heart of El congrejo, with lots of places to walk to and a great starting point for getting around the rest of the city. It also felt very welcoming as a solo traveler. The staff are super sweet and deal with any issue right away, with kindness and grace. I’ll stay here again on my next visit.

The location is a real plus: it’s only 1.5 blocks from the metro, with a great convenience store next door and plenty of spots to eat and visit along Via Argentina. There’s also a great sushi restaurant you can enter through the lobby. For the price, I’d stay here again. I had a pleasant stay and didn’t run into the problems mentioned in many other reviews. Maybe the hotel has made improvements in response to that feedback, or maybe there’s new management. My room and the rest of the hotel were clean, the room was spacious with a nice bathroom, and the front desk staff were always helpful. It was quiet, too. My one suggestion is to add a mini-fridge to the rooms.

Wi-Fi was really spotty, and I had to find a particular spot in the room to get a clear signal. Not every room has a mini-fridge or coffee maker, and I’d suggest adding USB/UC plugs. The room and bathroom were spotless, the linens looked well laundered and not worn, and housekeeping did an excellent job. Staff were helpful and professional. Check-in was seamless, from moving my bags out of the taxi onto the luggage cart to bringing them up to my room.
