After the first day, things improved: the room was made up the next day, and housekeeping was prompt on the following days. The terrace has a nice little pool, and for the price and location, it's a great hotel. The rooms themselves are nice, though the sheets and bed covers looked worn. At first, guest service was lacking. There were three of us but only two towels, and no toilet paper. I went to reception for the towels and was told they would be brought to the room. It took several reminders and about half an hour to get both the towel and toilet paper. The next day, housekeeping cleaned the room but left the bathroom trash. We didn't try the restaurant.

I was there just for a short overnight layover, from 9 PM until 4 AM. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable, so it worked well for a few hours of rest at Hotel Terranova. The difficult part was leaving. Staff had to check the room before I could go, which delayed me while my Uber was already waiting. A quicker or more flexible checkout would help guests staying only briefly.

Terranova hotel is the worst place I’ve stayed. The sheets were dirty and gave me facial breakouts and itchy skin, and there were bed bugs. The bed head was peeling and falling onto my face. There was also a bee infestation, and I was actually attacked by one. They charge $35 for soiled sheets.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Get two keys: one operates the room electricity and can stay there, while the other is for entry and should go with you. The elevators were a little slow. You can walk to lots of restaurants and nightlife with music nearby. In the morning they had a limited breakfast and coffee at their on-site cafe, or you can walk down the street to a coffee shop.

A good, affordable option in Panama City's business district. The metro, grocery stores, pharmacies, and Cinta Costera are all close by. The rooms are fine, with slightly dated bathrooms, comfortable beds, and strong AC.
