TRYP by Wyndham Panamá Centro

The rooftop view and swimming pool were the good parts. The rest left us dissatisfied. Our room smelled as if it wasn't ventilated properly, and we found a bug in it. Breakfast had quite a large selection but wasn't very good. The pancake felt like plastic, and the "pan de chocolate" seemed old. For comparison, we'd had a better breakfast at a hostel before. Service was poor, and none of the staff spoke decent English. We only needed a few basic phrases, not a conversation about life. We'd asked both when booking and again at reception the night before to leave our bags there for less than 24 hours. In the morning, reception still wouldn't let us leave them. We eventually managed, but the discussion delayed our day tour, and the tour guides had to come in to resolve the misunderstanding. Bad experience.

Breakfast was mediocre, but I'd definitely stay here again. Check-in was easy and early. The room was clean, quiet, and well lit, with large windows looking out over Panama City centro. The mattress was comfortable and firm, the shower was large with enough hot water, and the A/C was cold. There are lots of different restaurants nearby.

I really liked the atmosphere, and the staff's hospitality made the stay memorable. They were wonderful, friendly, helpful, and treated us very well. Breakfast was simple but enjoyable, with fresh fruit and good coffee, and even though I ate alone, the staff made me comfortable. There were a couple of hassles: the hotel mixed up our rooms, and the pool seemed too small for such a large hotel and wasn't very clean. Some renovations, like fresh paint, would help the place look better. Still, it was a good experience overall.

Ana at the front desk was THE ABSOLUTE BEST. She made everything easy even before we got to the hotel. My group of 16 had no complaints, and I absolutely loved the stay.
