I stayed nearly a month, and for the first time in six years, since Germany started a personal war against me, I felt welcome and at home. The lovely couple who own the place helped me with everything. If you want a tour, no problem. Need anything? No problem. It's very calm here. I personally needed to stay in Peru for a while. Germany needs a postal address to pay my pension, but Peru needs the pension papers before it can start the process. They let me use this address until I could sort it all out. I love this small town and would do everything to protect it.

The little flower garden right outside my room was the best part, and I had a separate bathroom. The whole place was clean, with a comfortable bed. The stone or brick walls kept it cool in the afternoon and warm at night, and the electric shower was warm. It's a short walk to the central market and colectivo stops. Yoly was helpful at check-in and offered to arrange tours. I had to leave too early to try breakfast, which is served from 7 to 9.

It's very quiet and comfortable, and what you get for the price is fair. Yolys is a great place, though it's a little way from the main park, where the best places to eat are.

Don't stay here!! Half my belongings, including my laptop, were stolen from this hostel today. The owners offered no help or resolution, and I didn't feel safe. I've stayed in over 100 hostels across more than 50 countries, and this was by far my worst experience.

This place is a building site, with loud noise from 8am to 6pm. They double booked my room. Mistakes happen, but while I was out they moved all my things to another room without asking. It felt really intrusive, like they'd decided to kick me out, and to make it worse, they put me in a room shared with a stranger. I demanded my money back and went to find another hotel.
