The owner kindly helped me fix my glasses, which I really appreciated. It was quiet, the rooms were clean, and the WiFi was excellent.

We needed a good place to rest after a long hike, and the spacious, lovely room worked perfectly. It gets plenty of natural light, the shower heats up right away with strong pressure, and the small radiator made the room warm, a real luxury in Cusco. The staff were polite and accommodating, and let us check in during the evening for a very low price, which helped a lot since we were arriving on a night bus. Breakfast was high quality, but there wasn’t much of it. A little cheese, ham and avocado would make it just right. Honestly, this place is a gem, and I completely recommend it.

It’s conveniently located and good value. The apartment was spacious, spotless, and usually had good WiFi. It could get a bit cold, and the kitchen needs more cooking utensils, like a vegetable peeler and coffee maker. Alcides, the owner and manager, is a really nice, friendly guy, and the woman serving breakfast was kind and adorable. Picchu, the hotel cat, is adorable too, though he has his cat moments.

After I got back to Japan, I discovered that my original card had been charged even though I’d been told the payment wasn’t authorized and had paid with another card. The extra charge was 252.5 PEN. When I asked the accommodation for a refund, they emailed to say they acknowledged it and would return the money in about 10 days. Nearly four months later, I still haven’t received it. It’s been over a month since my last email, and I’ve been ignored. The person in charge apparently has time to go play in the jungle, but not to deal with the international transfer. I don’t think there’s much chance of getting the refund, but my Japanese SAMURAI spirit will never forgive this crime. Stealing just 252.5 PEN could cost this place tens or even hundreds of times more. There are plenty of other good places to stay in Cusco. I hope people won’t be fooled by this property’s appearance and suffer the same experience I did.
