We picked Ayni Boutique Hotel for my husband’s birthday because the suites have jacuzzis. The location was perfect, close to the main plaza without being right on top of it. The rooms were lovely, the bed super comfortable, and having a jacuzzi each evening was so nice. We had hot water problems at check-in and again the next day. The team worked to sort it out quickly and moved us to another room; 202 was the problem room. Everyone was lovely and did their best to make sure we were happy. Angela was a real standout, and Valeria was wonderful too. They even arranged a delicious cheesecake as a birthday treat when we arrived. Breakfast was pretty standard, with fresh eggs available as omelette, scrambled, fried or boiled. The breakfast waiter, whose name I wish I’d noted, was absolutely lovely. Gary the chef made us a delicious dinner through complimentary room service on my husband’s birthday to make up for the hot water inconvenience. We really appreciated the kind gesture. There are no TVs in the rooms, which didn’t matter to us but might matter to some. Heating is controlled at reception, a bit of a pain to manage, though it worked out okay. I’d recommend Ayni as a place to stay in Cusco.

Some rooms have a lovely view of the main church, with French windows that let you enjoy the sound of the bells. This charming BnB-style place is in Cusco’s historic centre. Service went above and beyond, especially the free takeaway breakfast kits that were lifesavers for our early day tours. Thanks to Mari and the team for looking after everything we needed. We tried dinner one night and it was amazing, though pricier than eating out. We extended our stay twice and would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

The entrance looks humble, but the courtyard inside is absolutely beautiful, and breakfast is served there. You can ask for unlimited hot food. The clean, lovely rooms have the basics you need, including a mini refrigerator, hair dryer, heater, hot water boiler and local teas for altitude sickness. The staff are friendly and accommodating. As anywhere else in Cusco, you should boil water before drinking it.

The historic architecture and decor give this hotel a comfortable, home-like feeling, and the service is excellent. The food and breakfast are amazing, and the friendly staff treat you like family, offering help and advice about your wellbeing and entertainment. I rarely write reviews, but this place deserves one.

After a terrible Airbnb stay, we moved to Ayni Boutique Hotel and were so glad we did. I got really sick while we were there, and the staff checked on me, brought herbal tea, and did whatever they could to help. They even packed breakfast for our 4am Rainbow Mountain trip. The rooms were very quiet, there’s a heater, breakfast is cooked to order, and the restaurant has great food at very affordable prices. We’d hesitated because there were no reviews yet, but choosing this place turned out to be one of our best trip decisions. It felt like being treated like royalty on a budget. 10/10, stay here!
