Casa Salkantay B&B

I stayed at Zuzan's house for almost a week and really felt her warmth. I'm grateful she opened the door so early in the morning. I could use all the spaces in the house without any problem, and coming back after walking around Cusco felt like coming home, like I lived there. If you want that home feeling, you should stay at Zuzan's house. And the bathrooms are really ok, while the rooms are perfectly quiet for a good rest.

The owners were great and breakfast was nice. There's art on the walls in every room, and the place feels spacious and welcoming. You also get views of the city.

The uphill walk from the center was manageable, and the quiet spot near my Spanish school suited me well. I also enjoyed walking to Mirador de San Cristóbal and Cristo Blanco in the mornings, and Ubers could reach the house easily. For a stay of just over a month, having a washing machine and somewhere to hang clothes was a big help. Susan, her family, and the rest of the experience made me feel welcome. Susan was patient with my limited Spanish, and they even invited me to a family gathering. When the room light had a small problem, they fixed it right away and answered my questions promptly. The pipe water smelled a little, but they warned me ahead of time and tried to reduce it. I understand that's fairly common in Cusco. The room could be chilly without a heater, though I got used to it after a few days. I had a great stay, thank you!

Susan made us feel so cared for throughout our 7 days here. Her cozy, lovely home was clean and felt like home. It was an affordable and comfortable stay in Cusco, about a 10 minute walk from town, up on the hill and away from the busy center. We'd come back if we visit again. Thank you, Susan!
