I was traveling alone and didn’t initially have a choice, since this hotel was part of my guided tour. My first room, on the second floor, had no windows or ventilation, and I could hear everything whenever people came in or out. The bed was lumpy and springy, and the faucet kept falling off. Then I was moved to an even worse room on the first floor, so narrow it only fit a twin bed and a chair. It also had no windows or ventilation, and the bathroom was covered in mold. It seemed like it had previously been a storage closet. I was mortified and quickly booked another hotel.

When bad weather stranded us during a day trip in Agua Calientes and we couldn’t get back to Cusco, the staff kindly canceled our room and held our luggage until we returned. We really appreciated that. The hotel is well located near the Plaza de Armas, and we highly recommend Andina Hotel. Breakfast was a nice buffet with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, cheese and ham. My husband asked for a game & cheese omelet, and the staff were happy to make one.

After five days of hiking, we arrived at 8pm expecting the double room we’d booked and paid for, but they’d put us in a room with one bed instead of two, half the size. Earlier, we’d been shown a double room for 150 soles, then returned and were shown another double room of the same type and offered it for 130 soles. The male “administrator” we had paid told us it was all they had for the night and we could move in the morning. We had no other option, so we went to the room, where there were no towels or pillows. The sheets were thin and had hair on them, and the extra blankets we asked for had brown stains. The shower was the only good thing. The hotel was full of Peruvians partying in the lobby all night, right below the rooms. There’s a giant skylight in the roof, so you wake as soon as the sun comes up. There were no windows and no fresh air. The next morning, the woman organizing breakfast, which was basic jam, bread and egg, was lovely. She said the administrator had made a mistake and booked us two different rooms during our three-day stay. In the afternoon he said we could move rooms, but we were exhausted and had already unpacked, or he offered 20 soles. He didn’t admit he’d booked the wrong room or show any empathy. Probably so all his noisy friends could have the bigger room with two beds. He tried to say the 130 soles was for a different room, even though we’d been physically shown a double room and then paid downstairs. Only after I showed him the receipt saying “double room 3 nights 130 soles p/n” did he call the owner and refund us slightly more soles for staying in a smaller room with one bed instead of two, a room we hadn’t viewed or wanted. He was rude and showed no care for the problems he caused. The room we got isn’t even pictured online, probably because it’s so much smaller than the others. It fit a bed, with very little space around it.

Friendly staff, a quiet atmosphere, and a very clean hotel right in the center. Best hotel in Cusco, highly recommended.

I booked this hotel through booking for late September/early October. I needed one more night, but when I tried to extend on booking, it said they were fully booked. I tried to cancel through the platform, which said I’d be charged a fee and would contact the hotel to ask if they’d let me cancel without one. The hotel never replied to booking, so they told me to contact Andina. I explained the situation to Andina, and they said they could extend my reservation for another night. I asked for an email confirmation, but all I got was a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be Ronald from Hotel Andina, saying he’d added a night. My booking reservation still hadn’t changed, so I asked him to update it. He said he couldn’t. I asked if he could send any kind of confirmation on booking, and if not, could he cancel the reservation. He said he couldn’t do either. Now the hotel isn’t responding at all. What a nightmare, and so unhelpful. Please don’t book with them.
