I stayed at Hotel Marqueses twice, with a week's tour of the Sacred Valley in between, and I'd insist on returning if I came back to Cusco. The second time, I was upgraded to a huge suite with two street-facing balconies on the second floor, and it was excellent value. The hotel's beautiful, traditional, classical style is very comfortable, and the service is excellent. David serves a really, really good breakfast. The location is about as convenient as it gets, two blocks from the Plaza de Armas on a quiet one-way street, with a lovely plaza at each end. It's easy to get anywhere in Cusco, and the place feels quiet and safe.

The staff at reception and breakfast were very friendly and helpful, and the bathroom was spacious, with a big shower. Our small double room felt quite cramped: the tiny window opened onto the hallway, and we couldn't really air out the musty smell. It seemed expensive for what you get. The old building is beautiful, though its thick walls mean the room's Wi-Fi is pretty bad. It also got cold at night, but there was a heater. During our stay they made the bed but didn't clean the bathroom.

Hotel Marqueses has a great location, and we could walk to lots of places. We had our rides covered through our associated travel company SAS. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always making sure we had what we needed, and the place has beautiful, unique decor. Breakfast was great, with excellent coffee made fresh for you. The Wi-Fi wasn't the best, but the whole experience made the hotel a must for us.

The location is good, and the place feels historic and authentic. But if you need even a basic level of comfort, this isn't the place for you. Everything is old, rooms are noisy, the temperature isn't controlled, and the internet is unreliable, if it works at all.

I had a really nice stay in this historic building. The rooms were good, and the staff were outgoing and willing to work through any problems we had. Big thanks to Valeria for answering all our questions and helping us out, and to the rest of the team too!
