Hotel Taypikala Cusco

What stayed with us most was how Katy at the front desk cared for my husband when he had altitude sickness. She was patient, kind, and incredibly helpful, and Mac, the bellboy, was also very kind and supportive. Their compassion and professionalism made us feel looked after during a difficult moment. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and well placed for exploring Cusco. We had a wonderful stay at Taypikala Hotel Cusco and really appreciated the hospitality from the whole team. Highly recommend it.

The location was the best part, with everything super close by. We enjoyed our one-night stay at Taypikala. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was decent, enough to get the day started. It was a little noisy in the morning, but not too disruptive.

Being able to walk to the main square was handy, and there are a few small shops nearby for snacks and drinks. The hotel was clean and well kept, and we liked having someone at the desk around the clock. We’d booked the wrong nights, but the staff kindly accommodated us by moving the reservation. The beds felt a little stiff to me, though not too bad. Breakfast was somewhat sparse, but they did make omelets to order.

This is at best a 3 star hotel, and I’d pass on it. The breakfast was horrible and the service even worse, especially the very rude woman at the omelet stand. The furniture and rooms are old, the bathroom looks straight out of the 80s, and the doors, doorways, counters, and furniture are scratched and missing paint. The cable box wire was hanging by a thread and covered in a huge amount of tape.
