I got to swim in the Amazon near dolphins and watch some amazing sunrises. The guides were knowledgeable and interesting, and we saw a good range of local nature and villages. The ayawascha experience was handled really well too. They shared lots of information beforehand, and the ceremony took place in a calm area with a supportive, professional shaman. It made for a very comfortable setting.

Our guide was so friendly and keen to show us lots of things. The meals were good too, with rice, spaghetti, eggs, chicken and fish, though the buffet was sometimes more than everyone could finish and at other times there wasn't quite enough for the group. The bedrooms and showers are basic, which is what you'd expect in the middle of the Amazon, and that was fine with us. We had a really nice stay, and everyone was welcoming.

Even nearly a year later, I still remember those five days with my best friend as one of the most memorable experiences of my life. The jungle trips gave us a chance to see all kinds of wildlife, from dolphins, monkeys and sloths to snakes, frogs, birds, alligators, piranhas, spiders and scorpions. The people were lovely, and the food was very good. We also took part in two Ayahuasca ceremonies. The shaman was kind, and we felt safe and well looked after.

Cesar has spent his whole life doing this work, and you can tell from how hands-on he is when finding wildlife. A really great place to stay or take a tour. I'd absolutely recommend it.

One of the most memorable experiences of my life was seeing an 11 or 12 foot Anaconda in the Amazon with Raul guiding us. He suggested, "cogerlo al lodge para mostrar los otros", bring it back to the lodge to show the others. We caught it and carried it about a mile out of the jungle. The food at the lodge was fresh, tasty, and safe too. P.S. If you book in Iquitos, you can get it much cheaper than $260/night. I think ours was about $100/night.
