Iguana Haus

After spending my first night somewhere wildly noisy, I was glad to switch to this quiet accommodation. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the air conditioning and pool were wonderful for cooling down.

We were shocked by how unprofessionally the staff treated us. Even though we’d confirmed our reservation in person and by email, the administrator cancelled our rooms when we arrived and kicked us out. We were happy to leave after seeing the place, but it was still disgusting behavior. The photos make the pool area look big, though in reality the pool is quite small. The property also seemed dirty and smelly. They cancelled our booking right in front of us despite confirming it earlier. We found the place small, dirty, and unpleasant, and the people in charge seemed like scammers with no work ethics.

The pool makes this a great place to stay, and the bedroom AC is a big plus. The people are very nice, and the rooms are cozy, though they could be cleaner. There were a few spiderwebs here and there, but it wasn’t a big deal.

It’s great value, and I’d come back if I’m in Iquitos again. The place has a relaxed feel and very friendly staff. Guests can use a well-equipped kitchen, even with sharp knives. Our matrimonial room was spacious, with good air conditioning and a good shower. There wasn’t hot water, though in Iquitos you don’t really want a hot shower.
