BRISAS DEL MAR HOTEL

I had a brilliant two weeks here. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, and there was storage for our things. The staff were kind and the owners were friendly, checking whether anything could be changed to make our stay better. The food was excellent too, with three filling meals a day, including starters and traditional Peruvian mains. They got the pool open for our final night after it had been closed during the rest of our stay, and the staff worked really hard to make that happen. There’s also a sea swimming pool about a 30-minute walk away, which was amazing. The hotel felt very safe for our belongings, and the rooms had good showers. Cleaners were in and out regularly. It was being renovated, so there was a little damp, though it wasn’t severe or a major bother, and may have been down to us. The location isn’t great for nightlife, but there are small coffee shops and supermarkets about half a mile away. That’s not the hotel’s fault. Laundry was available, which was really useful for a long stay, although it cost £1 per pair of socks. I’d absolutely recommend the place.
