The room was pleasant, had all the amenities, and was in a good spot. Getting in was another story. It’s a residential condo without a front desk, and the guard couldn’t find my booking. After several calls and nearly 40 minutes, I finally got into a room. If you book through Expedia, be cautious: the owner doesn’t communicate directly, and the staff don’t speak English.

The owner was so warm and attentive, and even had the apartment key ready when I arrived at 11, although check-in was set for 2 pm. I also asked her for a fan and she got one for me right away. The apartment has a comfortable bed, sheets, pillows, towels, TV, and free Wi-Fi. There’s an electric stove, microwave, and fridge too, so you can cook or shop at the affordable little bodega around the corner. A convenience store is on the corner as well. The main squares in Lima’s historic center, Plaza de Armas y Plaza San Martín, are just a few meters away. Simply a great place to stay, I highly recommend it.

You can walk to the historic center in about five minutes, and the Metropolitano express bus is close by. There’s also a big supermarket just steps away. The apartment itself is great and has a kitchen. Sound carries through the building, though, so during the day you can hear quite a bit of what’s happening elsewhere.

The apartment is comfortable and has everything you need. It’s well located for walking to the tourist sights, with public transportation only a block away. For the airport ride, I’d suggest an official taxi for 40 soles. The host recommends one that costs 85 soles.
