Faraona Grand Hotel

The location was easy to find, with businesses, bus routes, and parks all within walking distance. We felt safe and had no complaints. Rooms were clean and perfectly adequate, and breakfast each morning was simple but good. It’s not a Holiday Inn or Marriott, and the price reflects that. We stayed for a week and would come back next time we’re in Peru.

The location in central Miraflores is great, close to Kennedy Park, minibuses, restaurants, and shopping centers. The ocean promenade is 1.5 km away. There’s a terrace on the seventh floor with a small pool, and the rooms have a safe, hairdryer, refrigerator, and air conditioning. Beautiful rooms, excellent Wi-Fi and service, plus a delicious breakfast. More than five stars!

The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are very kind, though the hotel feels a bit dated. A club has recently opened across the street, with loud music going until 4 a.m. on Saturday. I’d ask for a room away from the street or bring earplugs.

The shower was the problem. It’s small, there’s no bathroom ventilation, and the temperature is hard to manage. While showering it sometimes turns scalding hot without warning. It happened more than once to all three of us, and you can’t get away from the hot water without turning off the shower. That’s dangerous, so I’d be careful if staying again. The hotel is clean and central, with friendly, helpful staff. It’s older, and our room had unpleasant fluorescent lighting. The secure garage is tidy but very tight to maneuver in and out of. Breakfast was nice and simple, and the two elevators are modern. We didn’t try the restaurant. It’s easy to explore the city on foot from here.
