Loïc is a really friendly host, and breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean, and there's a basic kitchen and a nice courtyard. Hot water takes a little while to come through, but it's fine. The place is just south of the main part of Barranco.

The first two times we stayed were good, so the state of the third floor was a disappointment. We paid extra for a private bathroom, but got a tiny room with dirty pillows, an unswept floor, a dirty toilet, and black mold on the walls. The third floor is a disaster, don't stay there. On the earlier visits, we liked the staff, comfortable mattresses, and decent breakfast. The bathrooms are shared generally. We were also overcharged, in my opinion, for the larger breakfast we ordered. Update, September 2018.

Barranco is beautiful and feels very safe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with delicious breakfast and excellent staff who were helpful and very friendly.

We had a great week here. The neighborhood felt safe and there's plenty of interesting places nearby. Breakfasts were great, and so were the staff.
