Hostal Oro Blanco Miraflores

Really nice place!

We only had one comforter for the winter, so we were cold at night. And there was a window high up in the room that we couldn't close. Noise from outside came straight in all night, cars honking, people shouting, music, and more. We kept waking up. The bed was comfortable, and the location was handy near the main avenue, but the stay wasn't really worth it. Hot water was also a problem: on arrival day my boyfriend was the only one who got a warm shower. By the time I tried, the water was too cold. I managed a hot shower the next morning, but by evening it was cold again. On our third and last day, they simply turned off the hot water, so we went back to Brazil having had to make do with a quick wash in the freezing winter water. Wi-Fi stopped working and only came back after we complained. Breakfast was very poor, just bread with butter, instant coffee, and a glass of juice chosen for us. There was no choice, and we got the same thing all three days.

The rooms were clean, the location was convenient, and breakfast was the usual papaya juice, coffee, and bread with scrambled eggs. On our second visit we were put in room 202, which had poor ventilation. I asked for another fan, but none was available. They offered to open the high window, and with that we were finally able to sleep. Apart from that, everything was fine.

I was welcomed warmly as soon as I arrived by Mrs. Diana and the rest of the staff, who were helpful and accommodating throughout. It's a lovely family hostel, with tasty continental breakfast and housekeeping every day before I returned the key. Kennedy Park is three blocks away, and Pizza Street is across the road. I'll definitely come back.
