Hostal Porta

I felt right at home here. It's a peaceful spot near everything, in a lovely 1930s house, and my room was spacious, even bigger than my first home. They also included thoughtful little touches during my stay, like beer. These days it's rare not to feel like just another number. I recommend it. ¡Gracias!

Casa Porta Hostal was a hidden gem in Lima for me, with lovely old Andalucian architecture and very clean rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations for places to see and eat. They were already communicating with me before I landed in Peru, and showed real flexibility during my stay. They let me cancel a night at the last minute, kept my luggage for free, gave me everything I wanted for breakfast, and even got in touch with another hotel. Customer service was A+++. I'd recommend booking with them, easily a 5-star stay.

The rooms at Porta Hostal are spacious and comfortable, and I had a pleasant stay. The building is a little dated, and you can hear other guests pretty easily through the thin walls. Breakfast had enough options, though the selection wasn't especially wide. A practical, comfortable choice for a place to stay.

We stayed here with our 15 and 12 year old in early June. They checked us in three hours early, and the staff were friendly and responsive. Breakfast comes with the stay each day and was quite decent. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. You can hear some noise, as you'd expect in a building from the 1930s, so don't count on complete quiet. Maybe ask for a room away from the street. Our main issue was how bright the rooms were at night, since the opaque windows in both the front and bathroom doors let light through. We could walk to several parks and restaurants in Miraflores, as well as the beach.
