Hotel Lexus

Botiquish hotel in a good location. Everything was fine except it had a fan instead of AC. I didn't need AC, but in warmer weather I would have.

The staff were very helpful, and breakfast had a really good selection. Our room was large with city views, including a free view of the Lima Pyramid. We were about a 10-minute walk from Park Kennedy, which worked well since we didn't want noise all night. They arranged our airport taxi and everything. Definitely staying here again next time I'm in Lima.

The suite we upgraded to was fantastic, but the first two rooms we looked at had problems. Staff handled our complaints graciously and offered the suite for an additional cost. The first room was on the second floor above a loud street. That would've been okay with air conditioning, but we only learned at check-in that most rooms don't have it. They then offered a room on the sixth floor. When we checked the mattress for bedbugs, we saw clear signs of an infestation. They offered the suite without much fuss, but from what we overheard of their instructions to a maintenance or housekeeping worker, it didn't seem like they planned to take strong enough steps to deal with it. That may have been a misunderstanding because our Spanish is limited. The suite was on the eighth floor. The king bed looked free of bedbugs, and it was far enough from the other room that I felt relatively safe from bringing any bugs along. The suites have air conditioning, which was great. During our three nights there, it leaked a lot of water and needed breaks now and then, but the upgrade was still worth the extra cost. The suite also had a huge jet tub and shower. Breakfast was decent, and the rest was about what you'd expect. The location is a convenient walk to many sights in Miraflores, including the pre-Inca ruins, which are visible from much of the building.

For what it costs, it's a good hotel. The shore is about a 15-minute walk away.
