Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lima Miraflores Art House

The buffet breakfast was really good, with fresh food every morning. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the hotel itself is very nice. It’s perfectly located close to everything in Miraflores. I had a great stay and would definitely return and recommend it to anyone visiting Lima.

The staff were professional and hospitable, especially at the front desk and door, and they raised my score for this hotel from a respectable 3 to a 4. The location is pleasant, near a good supermarket as well as the tourist-focused restaurants. I liked the airy, fresh design in the lobby and dining room, the room refrigerator and full-length mirror, and the metal folding step stools instead of the usual strap luggage racks. Breakfast had tasty proteins, whole fruit, and fresh-cut fruit. But building management quality control is troubling. Hot water failed one day, though on other days the shower was great, with terrific pressure. The Wi-Fi was usually fine but unpredictably disappeared completely for at least 10 minutes each day of my stay. My first room had no outlet for the refrigerator and espresso machine, so I had to change rooms. The glass tumblers were smudged and looked unwashed. Staff had to intervene for two separate climate control issues. The paper cups for the espresso machine are too small for the amount it pours for tea or an americano, and the tumblers don’t fit well beneath the dispenser as a substitute. Luckily, cups I borrowed from the dining room worked just right. I’ll end with another compliment for the superb staff experience.

The service is stellar, and the location right in front of Larcomar is amazing and super convenient. For the price, it’s a very good hotel. The two big downsides are the horrible Wi-Fi, so I wouldn’t stay here if I needed to work remotely, and the very small rooms. I booked a “suite” and got something smaller than a regular hotel room elsewhere. Apart from that, it’s a great hotel.

The location is peaceful and puts you close to the center of Miraflores and the Malecon. The hotel was clean and really nice, and the staff made us feel welcome.
