We only stayed briefly before heading off to see the rest of Peru, but it was an incredible visit. The location couldn't be better, the amenities are fabulous, and the rooms are spotless, with comfortable beds and lots of thoughtful details. Every staff member we met was kind, friendly, respectful, welcoming, and caring. They all went above and beyond, especially Ruben Botones, who went out of his way to greet us and help beyond what we expected. He's the kindest, most thoughtful person I've ever interacted with. We really appreciated his generosity, and even though it's been a while since our stay, I still remember how thoughtful he was. Thank you, Ruben! If you're wondering where to stay, definitely choose InterContinental in Miraflores.

The room was fantastic, with an exceptional ocean view, and the lounge was great. I especially loved the Peruvian Malbec. Alexandria dnd Jesus in the lounge went above and beyond. The people here know customer service and are at the top of their game. We stay in plenty of hotels, including many InterContinental properties, and this one reminded us of the Asian InterContinentals, in a good way. You won't be disappointed.

The hotel's location is great, and the building is beautiful and new, but the management feels like one-star service at a five-star property. Even at breakfast, with only half the buffet full, we faced a long wait just to get coffee. The hotel seems understaffed, and staff need serious retraining in customer service and professionalism so guests feel welcome. Management should be held accountable. I'd strongly suggest replacing the general manager or, at the very least, having InterContinental Corporate speak seriously with the franchise owner. This place falls short of five-star standards. We told the hotel in advance that a flight delay meant we'd check in late. When we arrived, there was no line, but checking in still took over 30 minutes, and the front desk agent seemed unsure how to make room keys. At the end of our stay, we were surprised by a late check-in fee on top of the already expensive $400-per-night rate. Our room wasn't cleaned the next day, and the front desk staff seemed unconcerned when we raised it. We had other frustrating experiences too. The Japanese restaurant on the rooftop closed mid-afternoon while we were trying to have lunch, so we had to leave. The bill showed both local currency and U.S. dollars in a confusing way, and we were misled into leaving a $70 tip. If you use the hotel's third-party car service, be careful with gratuities. We'd already tipped the driver in cash and didn't realize another tip had been added.

Ruben, one of the bellmen, made a real difference from our arrival through the day we left. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail were outstanding. If everyone in hospitality approached the job as he does, we'd all be better off. We had a great stay, with excellent rooms in a facility that feels new and very well maintained. The location is convenient too, which made getting around easy.

The property is beautiful and new, the rooms are well designed, and we had an Executive Suite with an ocean view for 5 nights in March 2026. But the service made the experience feel more like an Airbnb than a five-star hotel, and that's disappointing given the building's potential. There was only one person at reception when we arrived, so check-in took more than 15 minutes. The bellman eventually started collecting our documents to help things along. Nobody welcomed us or asked about our trip, and the interaction left us feeling as though we should apologize for being there. In the room, there wasn't even a welcome note, fruit, or another small gesture. The unfriendly attitude continued throughout the property. Very few staff greeted us unless we greeted them first. When we left yesterday morning, the entrance staff didn't open the door and only helped with our luggage after I asked. The Club Level was a particular letdown compared with club lounges at similar hotels. Drinks weren't self-service, not even water or a Coke, so we had to ask for every one. With just one person serving the entire lounge, getting even a soda or glass of wine took a long time. It felt like we were bothering the staff instead of being welcomed. The rooftop pool area also felt empty and poorly managed, with no bar, no staff, and very little atmosphere. The property itself is nice, but the service and staff attitude fall far short of what you'd expect from a luxury brand, and that reflects on management.
