The restaurant served a fantastic lunch, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and prompt, whatever their role. Our rooms and the shared areas were spotless. Reception also had water, tea, and cookies. The hotel sits across from a beautiful park filled with wonderful, centuries-old olive trees. It’s in an upscale residential neighborhood, with some shops and restaurants nearby and a short walk to great local places to eat. The service was the best I’ve seen in a long time.

For an airport layover, the location is hard to beat: the hotel is just steps from the new Lima Airport entrance, and you can roll your luggage cart straight to the lobby. The rooms are comfortable, modern, and nicely designed, with strong hot showers. It costs a lot by Peruvian standards, though it’s reasonable compared with US prices. The reservation included a very extensive, tasty breakfast at the attached Pa-Pri-Ka restaurant. We also had an outstanding dinner there and a complimentary drink. Service at both the hotel and restaurant was attentive, friendly, quick, competent, and bilingual. After staying in more basic places elsewhere in the country, this felt like a luxurious treat at the end of a long trip. We’ll come back on future visits to Peru if our schedule works out.

After a midnight flight from the Amazon, we arrived sweaty in our thongs and shorts, and felt a bit out of place when the very welcoming staff greeted us in tuxedos. We weren’t expecting this much luxury. The room was gorgeous and very spacious, with a lovely balcony or courtyard-style area. The bathroom was large, and the shower worked really well. The bed was the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in, and we didn’t want to get out of it. Breakfast was brilliant, and there are nice restaurants close by in a lovely area. It was a wonderful place to end our time in peru. I can’t fault it. Just wish we’d booked a longer stay.

The hotel was so quiet, away from the city's noise, and our room had two queen beds with plenty of space around them and the counter. Breakfast was delicious, and the 24-hour room service had meals the kids could eat. They even delivered treats to our room every day. A special thank you to the reception, room service, and restaurant staff for their wonderful hospitality. I’m very happy with my stay at Sonesta Olivar and will definitely come back.
