I found the room entry really unsettling. A man walked in without knocking or announcing himself while I hadn't locked the door from inside. I was startled, and he just said “Oh” before leaving a few seconds later. It seemed as if this might have happened before, which left me concerned about privacy and security. The place isn't wheelchair accessible. Noise is another issue: the second-floor rooms sit on a wooden platform, so footsteps carry, and some walls are wood too. I could easily hear other guests. Loud conversations downstairs, especially from the owners or administrators, often woke me early in the morning. Guests should try to keep the noise down. I stayed four nights, including Sunday, and was surprised to learn breakfast wasn't served that day. I and some other guests hadn't known, so we had to go out to find food. It'd help to make that clear ahead of time on the booking platform or in shared areas. When breakfast is served, it's basic, usually an omelette, two pieces of bread, and tea. My single room was small with a low ceiling, though acceptable for what I paid. The location is very convenient, near a Metro supermarket, a police station, and other useful shops. The facilities seem like they could improve over time. Still, I prefer Lima House in downtown, where I can cook my own food.

A lovely family runs this affordable spot in Barranco. They were helpful and easy to communicate with, and even gave me a free room upgrade. Great location too, definitely recommend it as a base.

The family who own and run the hostel are super friendly, and breakfast is served Monday through Saturday. It's right in the heart of Barranco, close to some really good restaurants and bars. A really nice hostel.

So warm and kind.

The breakfast was very good, and the neighborhood felt quiet and safe. It's well placed, a short walk from the main square, the Barranquin "Movida" (nightlife), and the beaches. There are several bus lines to get around the rest of Lima. The hostel and guesthouse were clean and welcoming, with small rooms and comfortable amenities. Excellent place.
