The comfortable bed was about the only thing that saved this place from a one-star rating. It’s in a good spot, but high up the hill in a noisy area full of music and restaurants. They have a list of charges that felt like a rip-off, including US$30 for a broken glass. They gave us a complimentary bottle of water but nothing to open it with. The old electrical sockets pulled away from the wall, with sparks visible, and ordinary adapter plugs slipped out. The bathroom was dated, the windows had no privacy netting, and the views were terrible. You also have to preorder the buffet breakfast. The eggs were cooked to order but a huge fail. For a three-star hotel, it’s odd that the rooms have no AC.

I had no problems with the altitude in Machu Picchu, and the hotel made the stay easy. The location is right in the heart of town, surrounded by shops and restaurants, and about a 10-minute walk from the train station. The lobby had several kinds of tea and coffee available for free. Breakfast had a nice variety, and the mountain views made the dining room pleasant. Reception and restaurant staff were super friendly and helpful. Housekeeping cleaned thoroughly every day and left two bottles of spring water daily. Definitely recommended.

The staff were some of the best I’ve come across at any hotel. They stored our bags while we visited the Machu Picchu ruins and even took them to the railway station on the evening we left. Really thoughtful, friendly service. Hatun Inti Classic is right in the center, on a pedestrian street lined with great restaurants and bars. Our room was clean, though I wish it had been a little bigger. Breakfast was great, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. I’d happily recommend it.

A clean, spacious room and a really good shower. The hotel is close to the Machu Picchu bus stop, and the train station is an easy walk away. I had a great stay.
