We didn’t stay here, but we rented an ATV and had a horrible experience. We paid for a full day, 10.30 to 21, and it broke down at 15. We waited an hour in the sun for someone to rescue us, then 30 minutes to get back, arriving in town at 16.30. The guy said it would be fixed in an hour, but at 19, after repeatedly saying it would be ready soon, he flipped and blamed us. He claimed we broke the ATV and sent us a list of damages to pay for, with very aggressive messages. He also falsely said we had gone on the main road after he told us not to. That’s not true, he only told us not to go in the water. He refused to refund the half day and even tried to charge us more. It was a horrible experience and a waste of an afternoon, on top of the money. Be careful renting from this place! I had to amend this review because, after I posted it, the guy threatened to call the police and have us arrested over the review unless I cancelled it. I haven’t lied, I only described what happened.

Andres was an excellent host, so kind, friendly, and supportive. I had an amazing stay at la casa de Joan and will definitely come back to Mancora and stay there again. I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere is super chill, and you can relax completely. They rent ATVs and run tours, and they’re always ready with top-notch service. Those guys are awesome!

Angel was really friendly, and the dogs were adorable. But the bathroom had no door, the kitchen and the area outside the house were dirty, and we saw a rat in the yard by the kitchen. It’s a long way from the center and felt overpriced. We found a much nicer place in a better location for 30 soles less. They also wouldn’t take a card. The two rooms were divided by drywall, so we could hear everything from the other room.
