Hostal Hellen Ross

We were glad this place was well located, since the rest of the stay was rough. At night the young man on duty was hardly ever at reception, and we had to keep asking him to come unlock the door. When we tried to buy something, they had no change. Nobody mentioned that the shower water was cold, and the room door had a window that let the hallway light pour in all night. The corridor light stayed on constantly. Thankfully, we were there for just one night.

We found places to eat within walking distance, and the Cruz del Sur terminal was about a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is also fairly near Nazca's main square. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good, though not a buffet: juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, bread, and jam. The selection was limited, but enough for us before our flight. The rooms are plain and somewhat dated, with a basic old bathroom, but fine for a night while passing through. The shower had hot water, and the room temperature was decent.

The rooms were clean, but quite dark, and we could hear plenty of noise from the street. The receptionist came across as very cold and unfriendly, without even a smile. We were told breakfast came with the room, then found out when we went to get it that they don't serve it on Sundays.

For four people, breakfast was 10 soles extra. The place is close to the main square and has WiFi, cable TV, and secure parking. The rooms are a little old, but comfortable, and both the price and service were good.
