For about £16 a night, having a private room was fine. The location is pretty good, breakfast isn’t bad, and you can use the kitchen for free. The duvet was nice, and the shower is usually hot, though it can turn cold. When that happens, waiting 30 minutes seems to bring the warmth back. The place could use some maintenance, especially in the bathroom. An extractor fan would probably help clear the air instead of letting it condense on the ceiling.

I didn’t find the $90 USD we paid through Booking.com for two nights worth it. The receptionist came across as unfriendly and seemed bothered when interrupted. She didn’t smile or welcome us, and said we had to notify her if we wanted the room turned, which I would expect to be standard at a hotel. Our first-floor twin room had little to no mountain view unless you found just the right angle, and the garden view was minimal too. It barely felt like a garden. We could hear footsteps and movement from upstairs guests at night and from 5:30 AM onward. The breakfast window was short, from 7 to 8:30 AM. We left before seven and asked for a bag to go. It had a cheese sandwich, fruit, and a juice box. We said 6:30, and it was ready by 6:45. The bathroom needs work. The light switch was loose and felt hazardous, the sink was cracked and clogged, and there was mold in the shower grout. A bathroom smell stayed in the room all night, and it didn’t seem to have been deep cleaned. One night we had hot water, but the next it was lukewarm at best. There was broken furniture that hadn’t been fixed, nails sticking out of the wooden ceiling beams, and insects in the room.

It’s a beautiful place with a lot of potential, but the receptionist’s attitude was so unfriendly that it spoiled the welcome. She seemed completely unprepared for guests and gave the impression she disliked tourists and resented having people stay there. Breakfast was okay, though they limited us to two pieces of bread each. When someone in our family asked for one more, they wouldn’t allow it. They thoughtfully gave us breakfast bags for an early departure, but when we came back later, the rooms still hadn’t been cleaned. The beds were old and much too soft.

Breakfast was very good, with toast, eggs, pancakes, fruit, and coffee or tea. The B&B is cozy, with nice rooms and comfortable beds. It’s close to the main square but far enough away to be quieter. I recommend it.
